Moulin Moor Balloon Race Winner

HAVING JUST been out camping “wild” up on the Moulin Moors approximately 6 miles east of Pitlochry, my little girl Derryth, and our two friends Amber and Ruisa, were very excited when they found a balloon and tag.
We had spent the evening cooking sausages and toasting marshmallows over an open fire before beating the retreat and going to bed before the midges started to bite.
Up early the following morning, we had packed up and were heading through the heather back up to our van at about 8.30 am when we spotted the balloon falling out of the mist and down onto the heather moor. It was a brilliant ending to our camping adventure.
The girls ran off to fetch it and discovered that it had come from the Movement Centre, based in Oswestry, in Shropshire, which offers therapy to children suffering from Cerebral Palsy.
From the label it was clear that the balloon took just over 12 hours to reach the moors!

It turned out that this balloon was not only first one to be reported back, but that it had also travelled the furthest, too.
The Movement Centre takes children from all over the UK and has had several patients from Scotland. It offers a pioneering therapy called targeted training which helps cerebral palsy children with movement problems to achieve everyday functional activities and thus dramatically improve their lives.
