Classic Cars Create A Cameo in Highland Perthshire
MEMBERS of the Bean Classic Car Club in Somerset, retracing the route taken by the grandfather of one of their number in an Argyll in 1910, recently motored one stage of the journey through Highland Perthshire.
Their route took him all over Scotland, and the local leg (retraced on Saturday 13 May) was from Dunkeld to Ardlui.
As they were heading up Glen Lyon, the group stopped off at the Fortingall Hotel for lunch and to view the ancient Yew Tree and the grave of Sir Donald Currie.
Rachel Loudon snapped these couple of Bullnosed Morris tourers outside the hotel. On the left, the dog passenger waits patiently for the driver/owner - a vicar. On the right is a 1925 Morris Oxford, 1800cc, Stewart & Arden body, sports 2 seat and 'dicky' (a term understood by veteran car enthusiasts and not the person curled up out of sight in the passenger seat!) |
