No Longer Myles Apart

Mark Myles, who runs a drystane dyking business in Highland Perthshire, is a regular advertiser in Comment and was featured in the Business and Finance section of the magazine last September. The story highlighted his move into self-employment and noted the launch of his new business venture.

As with most Comment content in the print edition, plus a great deal more, this story was also published in the free-to-view edition on www.commentonline.co.uk. From there it was picked up by a lady from Bromely in Kent, who was reading our local ‘digital daily’.

Kate Myles had last had contact with her family some years back, when attending a family funeral in Kirkmichael. Over time the family drifted apart and all contact was lost. After reading the article about Mark, Kate contacted the Comment office, as she was convinced that the Mark Myles featured was her cousin.

Email addresses and telephone numbers were forwarded and exchanged, resulting in contact being made between Mark and Kate. The good news is that they are, indeed, related.

Mark had already contacted the publishers to report delightedly that his Comment coverage had set his phone ringing merrily. So now, not only has he seen his business grow through his appearance in Comment, but also his Christmas card list for family members has expanded!

Kate contacted Comment to express her gratitude, saying “thank you sooooo much for all your help - and your great website - for getting us back in touch".
