6 Good Reasons for Regular Exercise!
1. EXERCISE RAISES THE metabolic rate so that the cells of the body burn oxygen in a more efficient way. This encourages more efficient use of nutrients derived from food and increases the rate at which energy is released from food. It also promotes better elimination of waste and by-products.
2. It stimulates the digestive system by increasing intestinal peristalsis – the rhythmic movement of the intestines – which is essential for digestion, absorption of vitamins and mineral, and excretion of waste.
3. It helps to stabilise blood sugar levels. This is due to the fact that exercised muscles burn more fat rather than carbohydrates – so they don’t take as much sugar from the blood.
4. It improves the condition of the heart, lungs and blood circulation. In turn, this helps to prevent cardiovascular disease, boosts the immune system and increases the lung capacity, which in turn heightens the body’s oxygen intake and improves our energy levels. |

5. It helps to alleviate depression, stress and fatigue by boosting the production of therapeutic chemicals in the brain. It can also help to regulate sleep patterns in response to the release of another chemical called serotonin, which aids relaxation.
6. Regular exercise improves the appearance, colour and texture of the skin and also is a very important factor in anti-ageing; in fact it actually slows down the ageing process and makes the skin more resilient with the increased flow of nutrients and oxygen that feeds the skin so efficiently. Cellular renewal is improved and lymphatic drainage is speeded up eliminating wastes and toxins.
