New Community Hospital & GP Surgery in Pitlochry with Bobbin Mill Development

A Public Information Evening to update local residents on how the Bobbin Mill Development in Pitlochry is moving forward will be held in Pitlochry Town Hall on Tuesday, 28 June, from 7.30pm.
The Bobbin Mill Development is a visionary project which will deliver modern purpose-built facilities for the community of Pitlochry and north west Perthshire. Everyone is invited to come along and see for themselves how this exciting and innovative project will be delivered.
NHS Tayside is working in partnership with Toberargan Practice, Perth & Kinross Council and developers Medical Centres Scotland to help deliver this first-class facility. The new build will include a new community hospital and GP surgery, which will have a significant impact on the lives of all the people living in the area.
The Public Information evening will be chaired by local MSP for North Tayside Mr John Swinney and on hand to explain the future of the development will be NHS Tayside chair Peter Bates, Head of Service for Primary Care Division Danny McLaren, General Manager of Perth & Kinross Community Health Partnership Bill Nicoll and Depute Director for Community Care at Perth & Kinross Council David Burke. Representatives from Medical Centres Scotland will also be in attendance to outline the future plans.

Presentations

The aim of the event is to inform the local community on exactly how the development is moving forward. To help explain the way ahead, there will be a series of presentations on how the development is shaping up and what services will be provided there. There will also be an update on how things are progressing on finding a provider for the proposed care home element of the Bobbin Mill development.
After the presentations, there will be a chance for members of the audience to take part in a question and answer session with a panel of representatives from all the partners involved in the project.
Welcoming the event, Mr Swinney said, “This is a visionary yet complex project and I welcome this opportunity for the people of Pitlochry to hear an update on the project and to give their views.

Nursing Care Home
“The commitment to deliver a new hospital and GP surgery is very welcome but the key to realising the potential of this project is the inclusion of a nursing care home.
“I look forward to hearing further details on this point and encourage members of the Pitlochry community to attend this important event.”
General Manager of Perth & Kinross Community Health Partnership, Bill Nicoll, again reassured the people of the Pitlochry area that the new community hospital and new GP surgery will go ahead later this year.
“This Public Information Event gives everyone the chance to come along and see what’s planned for the Bobbin Mill site,” he said. “This is an extremely important development for the area and we’d like to share our vision with as many people as possible.
“We are totally committed to providing this innovative new facility which the people of Pitlochry deserve.”
NHS Tayside Chairman, Peter Bates, added, “There has been much speculation about the development, but we aim to bring the local community fully up to date with what we aim to achieve in Pitlochry and to restate our commitment to delivering the new services for the area.”
