Gardening in the North

A Masterclass with Beechgrove Garden's Jim McColl

Beechgrove Garden’s Jim McColl will visit the Explorers Garden at Pitlochry Festival Theatre to give a masterclass on Gardening in the North on Thursday 4 August. A native of Kilmarnock, Jim McColl did his formal horticultural training at the West of Scotland Agricultural College, following in the family tradition.

Jim joined Beechgrove Garden when the series began in 1978, and was one of the first Trustees at the Royal Botanics in Edinburgh. Although now officially retired, his voice remains familiar to radio listeners today.

The workshop starts at 10.30am, and includes all materials, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Places are limited, so it is essential to book in advance by calling the box office on 01796 484626.
