Fashion Conscious Support for One World Week

Aberfeldy Fair Trade Group will run its seventh Fair Trade Fashion Show on the 21 October in Breadalbane Academy, Aberfeldy, organised with the help of the Art & Design Department at Breadalbane Academy. The first fashion show was in 1994 in the very early days of the Aberfeldy Fair Trade group. Aberfeldy has since become Scotland’s first fair Trade town in 2002.
This Fashion Event in the Academy at 7.00pm showcases Fair Trade clothes from ‘People Tree’ which is dedicated to fighting poverty through fair trade and has both a fair trade and Eco Policy, promoting the use of recycled and organic materials.
Pupils, parents and staff will be strutting their stuff on the catwalks of Breadalbane Academy on 21 October. Senior Art & Design pupils will have a chance to display their design work and reusable shopping bags, and T Shirts will be on display from year 2 with a once-only chance to buy their goods following the show. A talented local band will create a stir with a high-energy blend of rhythm and blues.
Tickets £3.00 and £2.50 (cons) from Highland Gifts, Bridgend, Aberfeldy
