Local applicants to have benefited from the Big Lottery committees of May, June and July include:
Aberfeldy Guide / Scout Hut Committee, Aberfeldy. This group provides an establishment for both Scout/Guide groups and the community to meet. The grant of £3,839 will be used for water pipes.
Pitlochry and Blair Atholl Pipe Band, Blair Atholl. This group provides the facilities and opportunities for members to participate in the art of piping and drumming. The grant of £4,994 will be used to contribute towards the purchase of a full performance uniform.
Fortingall Gun Club, Fortingall. This group promote the sport of clay shooting to attract new members. The grant of £3,500 will contribute towards the purchase of new and safer clay target launchers.
Recognising the value of the awards, MSP John Swinney said: “I am sure that these organisations will continue their excellent work for the area and I warmly welcome this announcement.”
MP Pete Wishart commented: “It shows how much effort is being put into these projects by the local community and I am delighted it has been recognised by the Big Lottery Fund and SportScotland.”
