Pride of Perthshire Award to Local Group
At the beginning of August the Aberfeldy group Move 2 Improve was presented with a Pride of Perthshire Award by Perth Provost Bob Scott.
The award is given to people who are taking an active pride in where they live. The group has been responsible for revamping the Aberfeldy square with efforts that have proved popular in bringing it into the 21st Century whilst retaining a Victorian image. The award is made in conjunction with the Perthshire Advertiser, Take a Pride in Perthshire, Visit Scotland and Perth and Kinross Council.

Group chairman Willie Leszke told Comment: “We are pleased that we have made the square more streamlined and also introduced some new features. During the Christmas period we have decided to re-instate a large Christmas tree to the delight of the locals.

“Move 2 Improve continues to work quietly throughout the year trying to improve various areas in and around Aberfeldy. We never try and make our work a chore - maybe that is why we enjoy it!”
Collaborating with Perth & Kinross Council and Take a Pride in Perthshire, the group hopes to continue to improve the town with the limited amount of resources that it has. During the Christmas market group members boost funds through a raffle stall, and they are grateful to anyone who wishes to help.
