Country Markets Donation to Palliative Care

Jane Harbit (pictured below, left), treasurer of The League of Friends of Aberfeldy Cottage Hospital, accepted a cheque for £300 from Aberfeldy Country Markets co-ordinator Sandie Murphy.
The Friends provided facilities for a palliative care room at the Cottage Hospital last summer, and the money will go towards the equipping of a second palliative care room, plus the provision of equipment for patients’ comfort which is no longer provided by the NHS .

The room was created with a leather armchair, pine furniture, TV/DVD and a comfortable bed. It has en-suite facilities and a shower. The District Nurses Homecare Fund also contributed to the cost of the room which is available for a range of patients including those who are suffering from chronic and terminal illness.

The District Nurses would really like to give this room a name, one which reflects its place in the community and also the peaceful space it provides for those who use it.
They would welcome ideas for this name and invite suggestions to be made to the District Nurses at Aberfeldy Health Centre or by phone to 01887 820113. A small prize will presented to the person whose suggestion is selected.
