Roof Raised in Killin Kirk
The ‘Come 2 Sing’ concert in Killin Church really raised the roof on Saturday 22 April when almost 200 people enjoyed the fantastic sounds of a live band called ‘Born 2 Worship’.
The church was vibrant with a mixture of old and new style songs with the emphasis on praise. Both young and old sang their hearts out for two fun packed hours! The evening was a great success and people attended not only from Killin but also from a number of surrounding towns and villages. The feedback from those who attended was clear; “We want more of this!”
It was so exciting to see so many people having a great time at a local church event and it goes to show that rural churches need not suffer declining numbers. The church caters for all ages and different methods of praise.
The ‘Come 2 Sing’ evening showed that we can cater for everyone in our own local church. It is clearly not possible to get a professional band every month but perhaps we could arrange something twice a year.

Informal worship and praise takes place at the ‘630 evenings’ every third Sunday of the month, led by the Abernethy Trust in Killin Church. It is exciting and caters for all ages but not everybody realises this and it is hoped that we can make local people more aware and increase the numbers.
I hope that the event demonstrated that our local church caters for everyone and I would like to thank all the very kind people who supported me and helped to make this fantastic evening happen.
The next 630 service will be held in Killin Church on Sunday 18 June at 6.30pm.
