Locally-based Texas Swing Band at Birnam
“The Fiddle Tree” brings its 2006 programme to a close at the Baronial Hall, Birnam House Hotel on Friday 17 November with a concert by the locally-based Texas Swing band “Rancho Rebop & The Full Moon Howlers”.
The band features no less than seven weel-kent faces from various branches of the Perthshire Music Scene - Dave Amos, Pete Clark, Pete Caban, Clark Robinson, Pete Honeyman, Adam Bulley and Owen Nicholson. These names will be familiar to fans of Blues, Soul, Traditional, Celtic, Rock and Jazz in the area, but the ethos behind “Rancho Rebop & The Full Moon Howlers” is firmly - as the name suggests - fun, fun, fun!
The musicians use the “Rancho” project as an opportunity to let loose and enjoy themselves - and they make sure that the audience is taken along on the ride. This will be one of those rare evenings where highest quality musicianship is merged with a keen sense of mischief. The outcome is sure to be memorable.Opening the show will be the excellent guitar duo “Wingin’ It”, from Oban.
