Musical Treat Opportunity at Rannoch

A rare local opportunity to see two outstanding young musicians is to take place in the Old Church of Rannoch on Friday 1 December.
Kaoru Yamada, violin, and Sholto Kynoch, piano, have already given a concert in the Wigmore Hall in London and are currently on a Scottish tour as part of an award by the Tunnell Trust.
Kaoru Yamada graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo and in 2001 gained a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music. She enjoys a varied career as soloist and chamber musician, where she has performed with Pour quoi Piano Trio in Japan, France and the UK. She has worked with several UK orchestras including the Northern Sinfonia, Hallé Orchestra and Scottish Chamber Orchestra and is on trail as sub-principal second violin with the Ulster Orchestra.
Sholto Kynoch read Music at Worcester College, Oxford before accepting a scholarship to the post graduate accompanists’ course at the Royal Academy of Music. There he won several prizes for both song and chamber music. He completed his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he now holds a Junior Fellowship.

Sholto founded, and is the artistic director of, the Oxford Lieder Festival where he has given over 30 song recitals. He also finds time to be the pianist in the Prometheus Piano Trio, winners of the Thames Valley Young Musicians’ Platform and the Anglo-Czechoslovak Award. The Trio has performed around the UK as well as giving a concert at the Martinu Hall in Prague.
Recent performances include the MacMillan Festival at the Barbican and the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall which was broadcast on Radio 3.
The recital at the Old Church in Rannoch commences at 7.30pm and tickets are £5 at the door.
