The Sounds of Nova Scotia in Birnam

Hard on the heels of a spell-binding concert by Ireland’s Mick Hanly, Birnam-based promotions group, The Fiddle Tree presents the North American trio FERINTOSH in concert at the Royal Dunkeld Hotel, Atholl Street, Dunkeld on Wednesday 5 April at 8.00pm.
Ferintosh consist of David Greenberg on fiddle, Abby Newton on cello and Kim Robertson on Celtic harp. This trio of highly gifted, experienced and respected musicians presents the vibrant traditions of Scotland and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where Scottish Highland music has continued in a living tradition since the 18th century.
From poignant airs to high-spirited strathspeys and reels, their dynamic arrangements unleash both the subtle beauty and rhythmic energy of this timeless music. Their concert in Dunkeld comes just two days before their appearance at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh as part of the 2006 Edinburgh Harp Festival.
